The Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis today at noon he paid a visit to Public Employment Service (DYPA) on the occasion of the opening of new Offices of Special Social Groups, where he met with beneficiaries (disabled, former drug addicts, abused women) who used the specific programs of DYPA to find work.

The prime minister’s aim was to showcase the government’s results in creating new jobs through the agency’s development and employment programs.

“A great effort is being made to integrate disabled people into the labor market. Both as an anti-exclusionary policy but also as a real need of the labor market, which must be maintained in order to meet real needs. And it is something we will insist on very much in the future”, as Mr. Mitsotakis pointed out.

“One of the main reasons we created this space is to cover other special social groups that have other requirements and need for other infrastructures and a different perception of how to help them enter the labor market. Maybe at some point we should also remove the term “special social groups””

In April, according to Ergani, for the first time since 2011 the unemployed fell below 900,000 and unemployment fell by 8 points compared to 2019. New jobs in the same month amounted to 132,352, marking the best performance since in 2011. ELSTAT data show that now the majority of wage earners are in the range between 1000 and 3000 euros, while in 2019 most received a salary of up to 700 euros.
