The former Prime Minister, Alexis Tsipras, met with a large delegation of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, in which the executive director of the Hellenic American Leadership Council (HALC), Endy Zemenides, participated.

In this context, they discussed the country’s exit from the crisis, the possibilities but also the risks for the Greek economy, as well as the geopolitical developments and the role of Greece as a pillar of peace and stability in the region that was consolidated during the period of the SYRIZA government .

Council members referred to Tsipras’ visit to Chicago in October 2017, his speech to the Chicago Council, as well as Cinespace Studios’ investment in Greece following the visit and the law on film productions enacted by the SYRIZA Government.

At the same time, they discussed the economic and political developments in Greece, as well as the future of Greek-American relations.

Alexis Tsipras will be in Oslo in the next few days to participate in the Political Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe
