The prime minister gave a radio interview a while ago Kyriakos Mitsotakis at Parapolitical FMwhere, among other things, he was asked about his historic night yesterday Olympiakou and the triumph over Fiorentina in final of Conference League.

“I am very happy for three reasons: as an Olympian for the great success of the team: as a fan for the great success of Greek football 20 years after 2004, and as prime minister because we perfectly organized a top football celebration without any overtones”, the prime minister pointed out , who described as “subordinate the organization of the Final 4 of the Euroleague in Berlin”.

“This is the image that must prevail in the Greek league in terms of excellence and safety. This is the true image of Greece, we showed our true face yesterday with the final of the Conference League”.

“At home we discuss the accuracy – It is inappropriate for the Left not to support the battle with monopolies”

Regarding the issue of accuracy, Mr. Mitsotakis revealed that he is discussing accuracy at home, while he reiterated the need for a European response to pricing by multinationals, adding about the criticism leveled by SYRIZA that it is “out of place for the Left the battle with monopolies”.

At the same time, he assured that “we will do the right thing with the issue of VAT on coffee, after taking into account the increased price of the raw material”, however he observed that “if we reduce the VAT we will have an increase in prices and a loss of revenue”.

“Before the end of 2024, postal voting will be instituted for national elections as well”

“THE postal vote it is an achievement of democracy, a breakthrough, he said and called on the citizens not to neglect it because the deadlines are running out. The Greek state flawlessly organized a complex process”, said Kyriakos Mitsotakis afterwards.

“We know what we have to do and it will be done immediately. It will be one of our first legislative initiatives to institutionalize it for the national elections before the end of the year and now no one will have an alibi.

The big challenge is to overcome a constitutional interpretation to give the right to those inside Greece to vote by letter. The Parliament will say it. The measure must also apply to the national elections.”

“When they blame us for the 41%, they are actually blaming the citizens”

Also referring to the president of SYRIZA, Stefanos Kasselakis and for the “arrogance of the 41%”, the prime minister replied:

“It is good that we are all ambitious and want to win the elections. 41% was given to us by the citizens and when they blame us for this, they are actually blaming the citizens. When some assume that they will be prime ministers and distribute positions, let everyone draw their own conclusions”

Regarding PASOK, he limited himself to commenting that “it is not my problem that PASOK cannot win points against SYRIZA”, while when asked about which political leader he would go bouzouki with, with whom he would play basketball and with whom he would like to stay on a desert island, revealed:

“I would like to play basketball with Nikos Androulakis, I would like to go to a desert island with Dimitris Koutsoubas to understand what makes someone today a communist, and with Kasselakis I would go to the bouzoukis not to see who is more popular, but because that was left to me as an option.”
