“There is no common ground with the parties to the right of the ND. We cannot talk with parties that use religion as a tool”, stressed, among other things, the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in the cross-channel interview he granted, ahead of the June 9 European elections, from the Mediterranean Agricultural Institute of Chania.

Mr. Mitsotakis underlined that there is “absolute consistency” in the pre-election commitments and in the program implemented by the ND, stressing that important reforms have been made. “We still have three years ahead of us to implement our program in its entirety. The ND is absolutely consistent and in the 2027 elections we will be judged how consistent we are,” noted Mr. Mitsotakis.

Asked about what the convergence with Europe that he mentioned before the election means, he noted: “In 2009, when the crisis came, Greece was close to the European averages. We are attempting a European convergence in many ways. The route has not been traveled in its entire length. Very important decisions will be made in Europe in the next five years. Greece wants a strong representation in Brussels and Strasbourg”.
