In the first 4 months of 2024, approx 175,000 surgeries, a number that not only restores the pre-pandemic standards in NHS hospitals, but significantly exceeds them in relation to the year 2019, the Minister of Health announced through X Adonis Georgiades.

“From the first day we took over the administration of the Ministry of Health, we focused exclusively on improving services to all citizens. Today, I am pleased to announce that the numerical performance of operating rooms in NHS hospitals is back to pre-pandemic levels and even better. In particular, during the first four months of 2024, approximately 175,000 surgeries were performed, a number that not only restores the previous standards, but significantly exceeds them in relation to the year 2019. This is also the best answer to those who talk about the dissolution every day of the NHS. We continue our effort for better health services for our fellow citizens”.
