Nikos Androulakis addressed an invitation-opening to progressive citizens on Sunday to join their forces, anxieties and hopes together with PASOK-Movement for Change, speaking tonight at the party’s central pre-election gathering, in Thisio.

He promised that he and PASOK will not disappoint anyone in the new course and that they will be worthy of their trust. At the same time, he called on them to participate and not abstain, and addressed the undecided, asking them to vote for PASOK. “We can and deserve more. PASOK is the reliable solution to the tragedy of the government and the comedy of the official opposition.

Take the lineup into your own hands. Battle. We can win and we will win”, declared Nikos Androulakis.

At the same time, the president of PASOK launched a fierce attack both on the government and the prime minister, K. Mitsotakis, as well as on SYRIZA and Stefanos Kasselakis. “You have many reasons to vote for PASOK. Send a message to impunity and arrogance,” he stressed.

“The Greek people can and deserve more. I am calling you because this faction has always been a meeting point for the country’s progressive world. We can take the first encouraging steps on Sunday, and make a new leap.

In order to make the democratic faction stronger”, stressed Nikos Androulakis, “so that there is a strong and reliable opposition against arrogance, corruption, impunity. So that this power, your power, can be a governmental choice in next national elections”.

“Our strength, YOUR strength! To impose equality, meritocracy and transparency. Our power, your power! Against those who are capable of sacrificing your labors for profit and power,” he emphasized, at the same time harshly criticizing the ND government. “Against a government that unrepentantly continues the old outdated clientelistic practices that led the country to the economic adventure and now steadily distance it from the standard of living and the rule of law of the developed countries of Europe.

That’s why on Sunday I invite you to meet again so that the country can acquire a strong, reliable, progressive opposition against the dishonesty, arrogance and impunity of Megaros Maximos and Mr. Mitsotakis’ company”, underlined the president of PASOK-Movement for Change.

He characterized Mr. Mitsotakis as blackmailing instability when he has 121 more MPs from the 2nd party, questioning his credibility. “Is a Prime Minister reliable who has declared 7 times in one year the end of punctuality? What credibility does he have when in the tragedy of Tempi and in the scandals of the wiretapping and emails of Mrs. Asimakopoulou, he commits to full light, but in the end he orchestrates the cover-up?”

Accordingly, Mr. Androulakis referred to St. Kasselaki characterizing “surreal inspection scene in Thessaloniki: On the screens where are the millions, the tax havens and the offshores, but underneath the flags of the Left are flying”.

“The ardent supporter of Kyriakos Mitsotakis cannot take courses of progress in PASOK until he switches to the state ballot of SYRIZA”, he added, while pointing out that the president of SYRIZA has by his side two ministers of Karamanlis, Antonaros and Spiliotopoulos and Admiral Apostolakis, who was announced as minister of Mr. Mitsotakis.

He commented on the ND slogan “Constantly closer to Europe”, arguing that we diverge from all European indicators of well-being, in purchasing power where Greece is last in health with the second highest health expenditure in the EU), in wage share/profit share, where it is second lowest wages in the EU and third highest earnings), on the rule of law, making special reference to the wiretapping issue and the Tempe tragedy.

“The Greek people are thirsty for justice and not for the impunity of the few and powerful. To change the way of choosing the leadership of justice, so that it is not done only by the ruling party, so that there are no dependencies”, emphasized Nikos Androulakis.

He repeated the harsh criticism of the government for the accuracy that Greek citizens feel every day, while he characterized the letter to Mrs. Von der Leinen as a written confession of the Prime Minister’s failure.

Also, the president of PASOK-KINAL criticized the government and Mr. Mitsotakis for what they report about salaries and freelancers, the National Social Security, housing and increased electricity bills. “This is due, among other things, to the fact that the government has transferred the entire cost of non-competitive services to the end consumers. Without any burden on those who benefit, namely the big suppliers. And of course, in its tragic delay in promoting modern storage systems, as all other countries do. This inability will also lead to new increases in electricity in the coming months.

They can no longer hide behind non-existent excuses.” Mr. Androulakis thoroughly repeated the proposals of PASOK-KINAL on precision, the welfare state, the regeneration of the National Social Security, the establishment of a new EKAS for 350,000 low-pensioners, demographics, the just green transition, insularity.

He spoke about the Europe of Solidarity saying that “every vote for ND is a vote for the European People’s Party. It is a vote for austerity and for “a little together and a lot apart”. Every vote for SYRIZA is a vote for the European left, which is against the Euro army and the common foreign policy.

The only vote that constitutes and defends the interests of the Greek people is the vote for PASOK and the European socialists”, emphasized Nikos Androulakis.
