That’s what we’re doing with the new program for 25,000 unemployed 18- to 29-year-olds starting in the next few hours. The new action of the NSRF, with a budget of 200 million euros, is our answer to the real needs of the Greek economy and the labor market.”

This was stated by the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Domna Michailidoufrom the Rosewhere he was on Wednesday, 5/6, together with the Deputy Minister of Shipping, Ioannis Pappas, the General Secretary of Public Order, Manos Logothetis, the Secretary of the Environment, Christos Soulis, the Secretary of the EOT, Dimitris Fragakis, the Secretary General of Labor Relations of the Ministry of Labor & Social Security, Anna Stratinakis, the Secretary General of Social Insurance of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, Nikos Milapidis, the administrator of e-EFKA, Alexandros Varveris, the Deputy Administrator of DYPA, Gianna Hormova and the MPs Mika Iatridis, Manos Konsola and Vassilis Ypsilanti .

Mrs. Michailidou, accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Shipping and Insular Policy, Ioannis Pappas, the Dodecanese MPs, Tsampika Iatridis and Manos Konsolas and together with the echelon of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, met with the Regional Governor of Aegean Prefecture, Giorgos Chatzimarkos. Afterwards, he was at the offices of EFKA and DYPA, where he talked with employees, insured, unemployed and the employees of the services. In Kalythies and Afantou, he had the opportunity to talk with citizens, workers and entrepreneurs, about the under-representation of young people and women in the labor market and labor force shortages.

As mentioned in a related announcement, the key point of her visit to Rhodes was her participation in a meeting held in the hall of the island’s Chamber of Commerce. Also, Mrs. Michailidou emphasized the need to encourage young people and women to participate more actively in the labor market. “We need to bridge the gap between education and the needs of the labor market. Investing in skills development programs adapted to the needs of the market is vital,” the minister underlined.
