They present a 5-point proposal in their joint statement, one day after the result of the European elections, the Dionysis Teboneras and Antonis Kotsakas, with the aim of starting dialogue processes with the aim of cooperation between the parties of the left and progressive space.

Among other things, they talk about the creation of a single coordinating body with the participation of representation from all political bodies, maintaining their ideological, political, organizational and programmatic autonomy and away from “internal party procedures for recording associations and awarding roles, which will not concern society” .

At the same time, they point out that the reason for this initiative is the result of the European elections, which “with the unprecedented abstention, the strengthening of the extreme right and the wider developments in Europe prescribe dystopia conditions for Greek society, adding that “it is time everyone, citizens and politicians, to realize our responsibilities towards the country and the people”.

The result of the European elections, with the unprecedented abstention, the strengthening of the extreme right and the wider developments in Europe, prescribes dystopia conditions for Greek society.

It is time for all of us, citizens and politicians, to realize our responsibilities towards the country and the people.

We cannot indulge in personal strategies, plans and pursuits of individual persons.

Months ago we took an initiative (see event at the ALFA theater) seeking to create conditions for the reconstitution of the wider left and progressive space. It is obvious that the pre-election period canceled this effort.

Yesterday’s results led many officials of SYRIZA-PS, PASOK-KINAL, NEAS ARISTERAS and others to publicly express a positive opinion about this prospect.

We believe that nothing will move forward unless a specific framework proposal is submitted to start the proceedings.

We wish to contribute in this direction and we submit a specific proposal not as a certainty, but as an occasion to start the process.

We recommend:

1. The parties of the wider left and progressive space remain in the status they are in today, maintaining their ideological, political, organizational and program autonomy.

2. A coordinating body is formed with the participation of representation from all political bodies, in proportion to the strength they registered in the recent elections. Representations from mass movements and higher level organizations must also participate in the coordinating body.

3. The coordinating body initiates a dialogue focused on the programming theme for the formation of a minimum agreement.

4. Corresponding coordinating bodies are set up in each region of the country with the corresponding orientation.

5. Conference procedures that have been announced are obvious, that they do not offer a solution to the problem. In the best case, they will be intra-party procedures for recording correlations and awarding roles, which, however, will not concern society.

The resulting responsibilities for each of us are obvious. There is no scope for spreading them to others.
