From Friday, June 7, 2024, when the online submission of business applications for participation in its new DYPA program “acquiring professional experience for unemployed young people, aged 18-29” began, until today, 4,392 applications have already been submitted for a total of 5,482 positions .

The aim of the new action is to prepare 25,000 unemployed young people for their inclusion in the labor market.

Beneficiaries are 25,000 unemployed, aged 18-29, registered in the digital register of the unemployed of the Public Employment Service (DYPA), graduates of at least compulsory education, who do not participate in an education or training program or are employed.

The action is aimed at private sector businesses throughout the country.

A necessary condition for the inclusion of a company in the program is that it has not reduced its staff during the quarter, before the submission of the electronic application on the DYPA electronic platform.

Companies are classified, depending on their staff, as follows:

Businesses with staff: 0-3 people – Maximum number of beneficiaries: 1

Businesses with staff: 4-9 people – Maximum number of beneficiaries: 2

Businesses with staff: 10-19 people – Maximum number of beneficiaries: 3

Businesses with staff: 20-30 people – Maximum number of beneficiaries: 5

Businesses with staff: 31-50 people – Maximum number of beneficiaries: 8

Businesses with 51+ people – Maximum number of beneficiaries: 20% of staff and up to 20 beneficiaries

The program lasts seven months and DYPA will pay the beneficiaries a monthly compensation equal to the legal minimum wage, with full insurance contributions, a proportion of holiday gifts and leave allowance, while the beneficiaries will have full e-EFKA medical coverage.

The joining process is very simple. Businesses submit online applications to gov.gr and specify the specialty and the required qualifications of the positions. DYPA confirms that the company meets the conditions, the employment advisers indicate candidates to the company and the company chooses among the candidates.

With a total budget of 200 million euros, the program is co-financed by Greece and the EU, through the “Human Resources and Social Cohesion” program.
