“Tourism development should be sustainable, resilient, fair and participatory, the dividend that is developed should be distributed as fairly as possible throughout the country”, underlined the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis speaking earlier in a discussion with the President of the Hellenic Association. of Touristic Enterprises Yannis Parashis in the framework of the 32nd Ordinary General Assembly of SETE, at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center.

Mr. Mitsotakis insisted that “we cannot compromise and be complacent with our performance, our competitors do not remain stable. Investment in quality and sustainability”.

The prime minister noted that the front line of government policy for the second 4-year period is the increase in wages, “something that is already happening in the field of tourism”, as he characteristically said and explained that the government will be particularly strict in observing labor legislation, the which, as he said, should be absolutely self-explanatory. “Tourism workers should be well informed and happy with their working conditions,” Mr. Mitsotakis stressed.

In fact, when asked about it, the prime minister repeated that “as soon as there is a fiscal margin, the first intervention will be the reduction of employer contributions”.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis insisted that “2023 was a landmark year for tourism and added that “we have every reason to be satisfied with the performance of tourism both in terms of general indicators of income arrivals and employment and at the level of crisis management, such as the one that instigated in specific island and immediately”.
