The fact that the prime minister is reportedly seeking greater participation of parliamentarians in the new government composition seems to contribute to the “extension” of the announcements
By Penelope Galliou
The pending restructuring, as a consequence of the election result, is developing into an equation for strong solvers, with the prime minister keeping his cards closed, except for his very close associates with whom he has constant discussions and consultations about the “pieces of the puzzle” that will complete the changes he is preparing to cabinet which meets today at 11 am – most likely for the last time – with its current composition.
Although the scenarios under discussion did not rule out the possibility that the new composition of the government would be announced even this afternoon, before the prime minister left on Saturday for Switzerland and then for Brussels, however the prevailing version is that the reshuffle will be launched from Tuesday and then, upon his return Kyriakou Mitsotakis.
The fact that the prime minister is reportedly seeking greater participation of parliamentarians in the new government composition seems to contribute to the “extension” of the announcements, while more and more names of parliamentarians are heard for moving to ministerial seats. Among the names that are gaining ground, are several northern Hellate parliamentarians, after the image that Macedonia displayed at the polls. In particular, relevant scenarios include Costas Giulekas, Anna Efthimiou, Fanis Pappa, Tassos Hatzivasileiou, Makarios Lazaridis and the Thessalian MPs Christos Kellas and Christos Boukorou.
Among the “candidates” for the opposite path, of removal from the ministerial seats, are the names of the Minister of Rural Development Lefteris Avgenakis, who was involved in the crisis with the farmers, as well as the Minister of Development Kostas Skrekas, as a percentage of accuracy. In the same scenario, names such as the Minister of Immigration and Asylum Dimitris Kairides and the Minister of Shipping Christos Stylianides are recorded, with possible replacements of two persons who may return to the government, Takis Theodorikakos and Notis Mitarakis.
Scenarios of moving or leaving the ministerial structure also concern the minister of the interior, Niki Kerameos, with her possible replacement the current deputy minister Theodore Livanius.
The under-secretaries of Infrastructure are also heard in the unfavorable scenarios, Christina Alexopoulouwhich reportedly did not respond with the expected intensity in the election campaign and Maria Kefala Family, which had opposed the bill for same-sex couples.
In the nomenclature of the persons who seem to remain immovable in their government positions, the Minister of Defense, Nikos Dendias, the close associates of the prime minister and Ministers of State Akis Skertsos and Makis Voridis, the Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister and government representative Pavlos Marinakis, the Minister of Finance , Kostis Hatzidakis, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Giorgos Gerapetritis and the Minister of Health Adonis Georgiadis. Remaining in the government but possibly with “internal transfers” is being considered for the Minister of Transport Christos Staikouras, the Deputy Minister of Finance Nikos Papathanasis, the Minister of Environment and Energy, Theodoros Skylakakis and the Minister of Labor, Domna Michailidou,
THE today’s agenda of the cabinet includes:
