The handover ceremony was held between the outgoing Deputy Minister Mr. Haris Theocharis and the new Deputy Minister Mr. Christos Dimas
In the presence of the Minister of National Economy and Finance, Kostis Hatzidakis, the handover ceremony took place between the outgoing Deputy Minister, Mr. Haris Theoharis, and the new Deputy Minister, Mr. Christos Dimas.
Hatzidakis: I wish him good success in the continuation of his political journey
After the handover ceremony the Minister of National Economy and Finance Kostis Hatzidakis made the following statement:
“Haris Theocharis was my close partner for a year, for a series of issues that required knowledge, speed, hard work and honest human contact. Together we promoted a number of initiatives aimed at modernizing the tax system. I wish him every success in the continuation of his political journey. His knowledge, his hard work and his willingness to offer will always be useful to the New Republic and the Government.
I have known Christos Dimas for many years. Politician of the new generation, who at the same time has new ideas and international performances. He assumes perhaps the most critical position of his journey so far. I am sure that he will succeed and will contribute decisively to our collective effort to raise Greece even higher.”
Theoharis: I am proud because we were ahead of schedule and filed the important bill that puts an end to the lawlessness of uninsured vehicles
Outgoing Deputy Minister Haris Theocharis made the following statement:
“Closing the circle today as Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, I feel proud of the work we have accomplished in this one year. For the great fight we fought in order to revise the tax regime of freelancers, for the completion of a key reform – the interconnection of electronic cash registers with POS, for the rationalization, reduction or even total abolition of taxes.
I am proud because we got ahead and tabled the important bill that puts an end to the lawlessness of uninsured vehicles while we prepared – and will come to vote – the reform of the oldest and most anachronistic tax of the Greek state (introduced in 1836) of the stamp with a new modern end, the digital transaction fee.
I thank my colleagues, who constantly gave their best, contributing decisively to the joint effort.
I thank Minister Kostis Hatzidakis, but also the Prime Minister himself, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, for the perfect cooperation. I wholeheartedly thank both of them, for the trust and support they offered me as well as all the political leadership of the Ministry and its services for the excellent cooperation”.
Dimas: I recognize the responsibility and will try to contribute with all my powers
The new Deputy Minister Christos Dimas made the following statement:
“I want to thank Prime Minister Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis for the trust he showed in me. It is a great honor to take on the role of Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance. I recognize the responsibility and will try to contribute with all my powers to the economic progress of our country. We are off to a good start and I am sure that we will have excellent cooperation with Minister Kostis Hatzidakis and the entire financial staff.”
