He pointed out that “if we didn’t have the protection grid, the doctor and the nurse who examined the wife of Apostolos Lytras, who was beaten, in a similar case in the past, would be in handcuffs.”
In the coming days, a network of provisions will be announced that will strengthen the existing framework for domestic violence, Minister of Justice Giorgos Floridis told SKAI, regarding the case with the criminologist, Apostolos Lytra, who admitted yesterday to beating his wife.
As Mr. Floridis mentioned, the supporting provisions will more specifically define the context of the judicial development of a case.
He pointed out that “if we didn’t have the protection grid, the doctor and the nurse who examined the wife of Apostolos Lytras, who was beaten, in a similar case in the past, would be in handcuffs.”
“Teachers and students who report such incidents of violence have been beaten” commented Mr. Floridis at the same time.
He described the new criminal code and the criminal procedure code as a big change, saying that the bill last February was severely criticized by all the opposition parties.
