The assessment of the election result for SYRIZA PS, which was made at today’s meeting of the Executive Office of the party led by Stefanos Kasselakis, is positive.

Party sources said the valuation is positive for the party, “because we endured”“we consider that the percentage is satisfactory and gives us the authorization to continue with the autumn conference as a milestone”, in which statutory changes will be made, for which Mr. Kasselakis has spoken.

The same sources pointed out that the SYRIZA president has outlined the road map to KO last week. They noted that the party will go to its congress regardless of what the other forces do. They added that on the issues of cooperation, he has formulated his positions in detail both at the KO meeting and in his interview with ANT1 yesterday. It is recalled that Mr. Kasselakis has mentioned that “there is the parliamentary field with joint proposals of law and a second field in civil society, in trade unions and in professional bodies”.

The same SYRIZA sources said that if and when the needs arise and there is a request from society for a wider collaboration of the progressive forces, as he has said, then he will also be a candidate and will be put to the judgment of the base as a candidate for prime minister .

The same sources informed that Stefanos Kasselakis is leaving today for the USA where he will have important contacts with businessmen and with expatriates in the context of the foundation that the president of SYRIZA PA wants to create, and in particular in order to expand the possibilities of financing actions and initiatives for the next period. According to the same sources, considerable interest has already been expressed, while Mr. Kasselakis is expected to give interviews to major media such as the WSJ.

After his return from the US, the party’s Central Committee will be scheduled to meet, the same sources said.

Earlier, Mr. Kasselakis and the Head of Foreign Affairs Rena Dourou had a meeting with Matthew Nimitz.
