“Kyriakos Mitsotakis chose to tax the profits of the refineries in order to give another pass, this time as an allowance to pensioners” commented the president of SYRIZA, Stefanos Kasselakis, referring to the announcement of an extraordinary levy of 33% on the surplus profits of the refineries to be given to pensioners who did not see increases due to personal difference.

In his statement, Mr. Kasselakis states: “When before the elections we submitted a proposal for extraordinary taxation on the surplus profits of banks, electricity companies and refineries, the government and “government” media hounded us for money trees. Today they are celebrating.

We, however, submitted this proposal to immediately address the accuracy with immediate abolition of VAT in basic goods and reduction of the EFFK at the minimum level proposed by the EU Measures that ease the everyday life of citizens.

Mr. Mitsotakis chose to tax the profits of the refineries to give another pass, this time as a pensioner’s allowance. Once again he leaves the prime ministerial suit of Mr. Greenberg’s leftists and dresses up as a party leader of the Right of the ’50s.
