In the amendment tabled by the government and which “gives the authority to the special administrator to stop the operation of LARCO, to entrust the guarding of the facilities to third parties, to put a joint lock”, the president of the KO of the New Left mentioned, Alexis Haritsisin his speech to Parliament.

Al. Haritsis accused the government of bringing it “just a few hours before the workers’ security measures were discussed in the Athens Court of First Instance” in order to “essentially abolish the trial”, after he invoked it in court before it was voted on, “thus prejudicing the vote of the legislature body”.

“The things that are really happening these days and with this specific methodology are unheard of even for a right-wing government, such as the Mitsotakis government,” he said characteristically, calling on the responsible minister to stop “further trivializing the legislative process” and ” to now withdraw this despicable amendment for the LARCO».

Regarding the debate on the center-left which, as he said, “has flared up”, he said, addressing the progressive forces of the Parliament: “Unfortunately, this debate is taking place in the worst possible terms. And thus it does injustice to the genuine popular demand for an agreement that will create a direct strategic confrontation with the Right”.

“Unfortunately, the majority of the world once again perceives this discussion as an attempt to survive by political executives and leaders of each area. This way it doesn’t get anywhere, this way we don’t go anywhere”, he noted, stressing that “the reality is very harsh, the dilemmas are clear and require answers, they require political answers and they require answers from the left”.

“But this, the front, cannot exist without clear conversations. Without a clear program, without political angles and without clear social references. The policies of the average are dead,” he emphasized, putting as the main axis that “the rich in this country must pay.”

“So are we going to talk about a completely different tax system that is really fair? Which will lead to substantial redistribution in favor of the many and support the welfare state? Rounding off, apolitical obfuscation does not answer any of these critical strategic dilemmas,” he said.
