Elections for new leadership in PASOK-Movement for Change on November 3 and 10 suggests the Harry Doukas with a text – his intervention sent to the Secretary of the KPE and the Party’s Spokesman ahead of the meeting of the Central Political Committee of PASOK on Sunday, June 30.

As sources close to Mr. Doukas point out, this is a unifying proposal, with the aim of KPE reaching a road map for PASOK’s next steps. Haris Doukas calls for the voting to be conducted with the transparent and reliable procedures that took place in the 2017 and 2021 elections.

“I hope we will all stand at the height of the circumstances and our responsibility towards the citizens and the country” he points out.

Here is the text in detail:

“Dear Comrades,

On Sunday 30/06/2024 we have the crucial meeting of the Central Political Committee.
The goal of all of us is to discuss and co-decide the restart we need, so that PASOK – Movement for Change becomes the great force that will lead to the progressive governance of the country.

This presupposes creative discussion, without tensions and polarizations.

It is understandable that the work of the K.P.E. must be carried out with absolute transparency and democracy, without exclusions.

The fruitful discussion that I hope will take place needs to result in a road map for our next steps.

Specifically, I recommend:

1. Let’s celebrate the 50th anniversary of PASOK’s founding declaration on September 3.
2. To hold a Pan-Hellenic Conference, at the beginning of October, to discuss the political developments and the central political axes of our Movement, with the participation of representatives of our Movement and social bodies, as provided for in the statute.
3. Then let’s proceed in an orderly manner to the voting for the nomination by our members and friends of the new leadership of PASOK.

I propose that the vote be held on November 3 and 10, with the transparent and credible processes that took place in the 2017 and 2021 elections.

I believe that the road map ensures:

First: The possibility of a political debate on the necessary restart and reconstruction of PASOK-Movement for Change.
Second: The determination of leadership elections, at a time that does not allow long-term processes that lead to introversion.

I hope that we will all rise to the occasion and our responsibility towards the citizens and the country”.

“Haste is a bad counselor at all levels”

“Haste is a bad counselor at all levels”, said his circles PASOK responding to Haris Doukas’ proposal for leadership election on November 3 and 10.

“The Central Political Committee of PASOK-Movement for Change will meet as known on Sunday, June 30 to decide the road map. Therefore, we would expect Mr. Doukas to come to the meeting of the body of which he is a member and present his views, and not to communicate them to PASOK-Movement for Change through the email of a third party” it is emphasized.

“However, the fact that the mayor of Athens is unaware that the marathon road will be held on November 10, 2024, the date he proposes for the second round of internal party elections, makes an impression,” noted Harilaou Trikoupi.
