The opinion that SYRIZA-PS cannot stop its reconstitution and the creation of the great progressive faction to “wait what others will do” was expressed by the president of the party, Stefanos Kasselakis, speaking to the expatriate radio station cosmos fm.

St. Kasselakis insisted that the “right path” is for the bases of the two major parties of the center-left to “choose what they want”, while he emphasized that those who want “some cooperation” at the parliamentary and programmatic level, “we are at their disposal”.

He also emphasized that SYRIZA must from now on create a complete government program, in which every citizen can find himself and have clear legal proposals that will be ready to be implemented, but also a “new executive register” both for self-administration as well as for the next parliamentary elections.

Attack on the ND for its debt

St. Kasselakis once again launched an attack on the ND for its debt and called on Kyriakos Mitsotakis to accept his proposal to commission Deloitte, an international company, to check the finances of the two parties and make them public.

Asked about the departures of executives from the party bodies, St. Kasselakis noted that if someone does not want to participate, he cannot be forced, but he wished “that they continue to contribute to the programmatic process of the party”, pointing out that the congress has agreed on the need to change the structure of the party and its organs. The goal, he said, is to make SYRIZA a “modern, very progressive party that will change the pathologies of this country”, since, as he underlines, “it is not a systemic party”.

Regarding the closure of the daily Avgi, he said that due to the reduction of state funding and the lack of advertising, Avgi had reached a situation that “does not give many options”, clarifying, however, that “it is not stopping its daily activity”, as it continues its online presence and Sunday paper.

Donate to support the party

Besides, he invited the people of SYRIZA to donate to support the party and as he said he will set an example by donating today the maximum allowed, i.e. 20,000 euros.

As for the workers, he noted that he understands their concern and that he offered to take over the sheet themselves, but “it was not listened to.” He also reminded that the decision to close the daily paper was taken by the party’s PG before his election, but his predecessor did not implement it.
