All the camps are preparing for the big clash with a “fever” of ferments and processes, for the timetable, but also the names of the candidates, who will open their papers tomorrow
Tomorrow, Sunday, the meeting of the Central Committee of PASOK is expected to be critical, which will determine the subsequent developments and, in particular, whether the party will be led to internal party elections within 2024 in the wake of the upheaval caused by the result of the European elections.
The proceedings will be opened at 11:00 by Nikos Androulakis, where he is expected to open his papers with the information saying that the president of PASOK is reportedly determined to speed up the proceedings.
At the same time, all the camps are preparing for the big clash with a “fever” of ferments and processes, for the schedule, but also the names of the candidates, who will open their papers tomorrow.
The philosophy of clean solutions and restarting PASOK without delays will be incorporated in the road map that Nikos Androulakis will propose to the Central Committee, reportedly proposing elections for the party’s leader in early autumn.
Androulakis’ intention not to prolong the uncertainty that can cause greater introversion is also outlined by executives close to him.
PASOK’s parliamentary representative, Dimitris Manzos, points out the urgent need to close the issue of the early election of the president, stating that “it is not possible to continue a confrontation of decay. We must march with renewed self-confidence and dynamism.”
Moreover, the Mayor of Athens, Haris Doukas, who has been locked in as a contender for the leadership, has already invited Mr. Androulakis to lead the party in internal party elections in early November, while accusing the government of attacks against him.
In particular, the Mayor of Athens stated that “I am receiving extreme attacks from the Government after my intention to claim the Presidency of PASOK. The rapid deterioration of the Government puts Mr. Mitsotakis in the difficult position of directly interfering in the internal procedures of PASOK. I call on the entire world of the faction to reject these unacceptable methods”.
It is noted that the Duke candidacy is officially supported by Manolis Christodoulakis.
“I chose and we chose to go beyond. To join forces, to open up to society with extroversion and self-confidence, to defeat the ND. Haris Doukas proved that he can do it. Let’s go together to do it again, for the faction and the change in our homeland” said Manolis Christodoulakis in his statement.
The issues in PASOK are not straightforward. If it is assumed that there is a change of leadership in PASOK that we have the magic recipe to achieve the goal. A return of a progressive majority government solution against the ND. The notion that “I can do better” alone is insufficient.
Pavlos Geroulanos is expected to officially announce his candidacy for the leadership of the party tomorrow.
