Milena Apostolaki, Member of Parliament B1 of the Northern Sector of Athens and head of the Justice Department of the party, announced her candidacy for the leadership of PASOK on Monday.

“PASOK can happen again its progressive majority body and that must be our goal. This will be my goal, as I pointed out at the meeting of the Central Committee, and I will fight for it,” Mrs. Apostolaki points out in her statement.

“On October 6, the democratic party will go to the polls in order to elect a new leadership.

“This restart is necessary, but also historically crucial, as the country is in dire need of a new change.

“It is a debt to the democratic world that is suffocating from right-wing governance, the dramatic increase in inequality, rampant profiteering, the demolition of the welfare state, the attack on the rule of law and opacity.

»This governance model and this policy must and can be defeated.

“PASOK can once again become its progressive majority body and that must be our goal. This will be my goal, as I pointed out at the Central Committee meeting, and I will fight for it.

“I put all my strength as a candidate for the leadership, in the service of this goal. And I call on the democratic world of the country with its massive participation in our electoral process, to seal its achievement.”
