The PASOK it is a party of power and all candidates for its leadership must be ready to take on the responsibility of governing the country, said the MP and candidate for the party’s presidency, Milena Apostolaki speaking to SKAI, while reminding that in the 2017 elections there were nine candidates.

Mrs. Apostolaki stressed that in the next elections, PASOK must claim to be the first party, in order to implement what the citizens want.

He noted that running for leadership is about the responsibility one is ready to take on and added that the message of the European elections is that the need for political change in Greece is ripe.

She emphasized that the distance from the electoral result of the European elections must impose sobriety in terms of the evaluation of the leadership in PASOK and added that she was not one of the executives who raised the issue of leadership.

“But the issue was raised and Nikos Androulakis picked up the gauntlet,” he said characteristically.

“PASOK with clean positions and with the ability to do what it has always done in the past, the composition of wider social majorities, can be the next progressive government solution for the country” noted Mrs. Apostolaki and added that “through a clean plan and proposals we can make alliances”.

Social alliances are one thing and summit agreements are another, he said, commenting on the discussion on cooperation between SYRIZA and PASOK in the model of municipal elections, while adding that alliances cannot come through agreements of top officials looking for a role.

Finally, Mrs. Apostolaki stated that she would be happy to go to a debate.
