Kostas Zachariadis mentioned, among others, SKAI and the show Today, about the issue he disagrees with that led him not to vote for the proposal of the president of SYRIZA, Stefanos Kasselakis for the Central Committee and Kasselakis reports for Alexis Tsipras.

It is recalled that Kostas Zachariadis was one of the “7” who voted against the proposal of Stefanos Kasselakis

In particular, Olga Gerovasili, Kostas Zachariadis, Nikos Theocharopoulos, Zoe Karkoulia, Katerina Notopoulou, Yiannis Ragousis and Eleni Symeonidou voted against.

Mr. Zachariadis explained that “there is a proposal for the central committee and there are various assessments, for example it says at one point that the result (of the elections) given the conditions was satisfactory, I believe that the result given the conditions was negative, plus that in my opinion a difficult climate has been created which we must all try to overcome within the central committee”.

“I have a different nuance to the issue of assessing the election result,” he clarified.

At the same time, he underlined that, as he also said in the political secretariat, the mention of Stefanos Kasselakis in his posts on Facebook about Alexis Tsipras is wrong. “He has injured the base of the faction and an apology must be made to the people of SYRIZA,” he pointed out.

As he mentioned, a heavy atmosphere has been created in SYRIZA after the elections “with all these stories about the so-called black funds and Avgi”.

“I have been in this party for 25 years and I have my opinion,” he noted, among other things.

He added that the fact that they convened after 6 months was positively evaluated by everyone and that perhaps this on the part of the leadership is a practical recognition of the mistake made to go to the elections without meeting, while he noted that they also set for the next and subsequent weekly sessions.

“If we enter into a regularity of meetings and co-decisions, we have the possibility to correct some things”, underlined Mr. Zachariadis.

He emphasized that the goal is to put the party in decline.

Asked if he supports Stefanos Kasselakis, he stated that “Stefanos Kasselakis is the elected leadership of our party and we support our party and cooperate with all the leadership in order to strengthen the party”.

Regarding the issue of Avgi, he mentioned that it is a difficult situation and that several people had also testified, as he said, of their disagreement about the way it was done.

Kasselaki’s mea culpa for Avgi

It is recalled that yesterday morning “Avgi” workers were waiting for Mr. Kasselakis outside the SYRIZA offices. A worker told the president of SYRIZA that the newspaper is being abused when it is said to sell 400 sheets and added that its importance and influence in culture, society and the party itself is not calculated.

“You made a decision to close the daily paper from America and you still haven’t come to see us, to hear the problems of the newspaper. We haven’t heard anything about the future of the newspapers” a worker told him, who added that the election campaign was also supported by Avgi and the percentage that is deemed successful is due to both Avgi and Kokkino.

At the moment we do not have the money to pay for the printing of the daily paper, answered Stefanos Kasselakis and added that the closing of the daily paper does not mean that workers will be laid off.

Koumoundourou has not been paid either, said Mr. Kasselakis and added that we are here to do everything we can.

For their part, the workers accused him of never coming to see them and explain to them, with Mr. Kasselakis responding “mea culpa if we hadn’t talked. This is my fault.”
