Two intra-party referendums are requested by a proposal submitted to the Central Committee of SYRIZA-PS, which is meeting today, a group of executives.

The text was submitted by Mr. Christos Spirtzis on behalf of 80 members of the Central Committee who co-signed it. In their text, they disagree with the president of the party regarding the assessment of the election result, while they also refer to the issue of “black funds”.

Specifically, they state: “The allusions to black money in the Party Funds, as well as the statements of leading officials about a phenomenon that concerns all parties, including SYRIZA, affects our honor, ethics and history. The leadership must immediately, if has any evidence to present to the prosecution authorities and if he has received proposals for illegal financing, to also report to the authorities from whom he received them. Two party referendums

Next, they request two referendums: “We propose that the Central Committee of the Party decide to hold a referendum, in accordance with articles 24 and 25 of the Statute, with the question: “SYRIZA-PS should actively participate, undertaking specific initiatives, as a protagonist in the restructuring processes of the progressive space with the aim of – without disbanding the parties that will participate – the creation of a large body of the progressive world, which will claim victory in the next national elections from the ND.

As far as the proposals to change the statute are concerned, we suggest that they be submitted in a timely manner, thoroughly discussed and approved by the grassroots, that is, by the members of the SYRIZA PS directly and not by a body of representatives of our members in a statutory Congress. Utilizing articles 24 and 25 of our statutes for this matter as well”.
