“Strong disappointment and dissatisfaction regarding the participation of Hungarian High Officials in the OTK Informal Meeting”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus, with its announcement, “unequivocally condemns the Turkish efforts to project the separatist entity in violation of international legitimacy”, referring to the Informal Summit of the Organization of Turkic-Speaking Countries (OTC) held in Susa on July 5-6. with the participation of Viktor Orban.
“We further express strong disappointment and dissatisfaction regarding the participation of Hungarian High Officials in the OTK Informal Meeting. The above participation is a very serious slip, for which all appropriate actions are being taken at all levels,” the announcement states.
The announcement in detail
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs unequivocally condemns Turkish efforts to promote the separatist entity in violation of international legitimacy.
As part of Ankara’s effort, officials of the pseudo-state were invited by Azerbaijan to the Informal Summit of the Organization of Turkic-Speaking Countries (OTC) in Susa. The Organization of Turkic-Speaking States is once again being used by Ankara as a means to project the pseudo-state.
The Republic of Cyprus is taking all the necessary steps, demanding due respect for its sovereignty, territorial integrity and the Resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.
We further express strong disappointment and dissatisfaction regarding the participation of Hungarian High Officials in the OTK Informal Meeting.
The above participation is a very serious slip for which all due performances are made at all levels.
We expect that all our European partners, including the member state that just five days ago took over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, will fully respect the Cyprus-related UN Resolutions, International Law, as well as the resulting obligations from their status as EU member states.
We expect each member state to demonstrate the appropriate solidarity, responsibility and practical support in an issue of key and vital importance for the Republic of Cyprus, but also for the EU itself, and to act on the basis of the relevant Conclusions of the European Council.
