“Positive development characterized the results of the elections in France, the president of SYRIZA-PS, Stefanos Kasselakispointing out that “the Left and not the Center-Left now has the most influence”, in an interview with Mega and the show “Society at Mega”.

As he said, if the system were similar in Greece, it would be “difficult” for Mr. Mitsotakis to get 41% and “we would be forced into convergence”. However, he stated that in our system it is important that the convergence be “gradually based on programs” and announced that in the next proposals of law that SYRIZA will submit, it will address the leadership of PASOK to cooperate.

Concerning the question of the party’s finances and of the issue that has arisen with the party mediaMr. Kasselakis repeated the need to “rationalize” expenses with the revenues and noted that the financial committee of SYRIZA-PS has undertaken to make a relevant proposal to the Political Secretariat, which will take place next Thursday. “We have to fix our house to be able to say that we will fix the country”, he stressed, adding that a way of communication and an “honest relationship” has been found with the workers, who are expected to submit proposals on how to make the media more “attractive”. Asked about whether there are special funds for “trolls”, the president of SYRIZA replied that he has not found such a thing and commented that “there are none here for the salaries of party workers”.

As for the sentence he said to the KE “I will disturb you in the collective” he explained that his goal is to make the procedures even more frequent, but he denied that until now the party bodies did not meet regularly. Regarding the proposal for a referendum, he pointed out that “we cannot deviate from the statute” and assured that the people will have the possibility to participate digitally in the future. Referring to the ideas he presented to the KE, he commented that they caused a “positive disturbance” in the room.

When asked if he implied to the KE that there will be deletions, the president of SYRIZA reiterated that all members of the party should express the positions that have been voted in the bodies, without, as he said, being forbidden to have their own opinion on political issues.

Besides, he denied being involved in any “targeting” of SYRIZA members, such as Ms. Notopoulou and Mr. Zachariadis, stressing that he supports all members of the party.

Asked about “games” and “undermining” by Alexis Tsipras refused to comment in depth on their relationship and repeated what he said to the KE, that it is “self-evident” that MPs and SYRIZA officials can say “clearly” that the official opposition should take which initiative for convergence with other progressive forces and to support the party president in any such arrangement.

In this context, Mr. Kasselakis noted that in order for there to be cooperation with PASOK, it is necessary for one side to say “sorry” to the other for what has been said, especially, as he said, in the past.
