The question “why the government insists on revealing the identity of protected witnesses” about the “scandal Novartis“, given that “the Greek courts have repeatedly rejected their related requests”, states the SYRIZA with his announcement.

Initially, SYRIZA notes about the “Novartis scandal” that “Novartis and Novartis of Greece agreed to pay 346 million dollars to the American public in an out-of-court settlement to avoid further investigation, among other things, for the activities of influencing officials in Greece.” In addition, he emphasizes that “the protected witnesses, about whom there is a lot of talk today, justice in America has judged them to be reliable”.

SYRIZA comments following the above, that “the fact that Mr Adonis GeorgiadesThe Andreas Loverdos and Antonis Samaras they insist on the so-called “unmasking”, while the Greek courts have repeatedly rejected their related requests (see for example the will of the Supreme Special Court No. 25/2022), proves their lack of respect for the institution of justice, but also their continuous anti-institutional interventions towards the Greek judges”.

In addition, he argues that “by asking for their identities to be revealed, in order to expose the alleged “fraud”, among other things, they endanger the European framework for protected witnesses and seek, in fact, to abolish it”.

SYRIZA states that the question is: “Why does the government insist on revealing the identity of protected witnesses?” Is he afraid of something else coming? Is he trying to intimidate or deter any witnesses in other cases? Is it a tactic to appease Mr. Samaras, colluding with him, for reasons of intra-party truce in the ND?”

According to SYRIZA, “it is a given that by returning to something that the judiciary has already judged dozens of times, the government is conveniently trying to divert the public debate from the real, long-term problems faced by the citizens, at the same time throwing mud at SYRIZA”.

He finally states that “the accuracy, the increases in energy, the strangulation of small and medium-sized enterprises are not hidden by gimmicks. And SYRIZA will continue to highlight them.”
