Despite the discredit, despite the insults and underestimation that some consciously continue to cultivate, women today, we have nothing to prove to anyone
The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Elena Rapti, sent a message of support to Maria Syregela on the occasion of the attack she received from Pavlos Polakis, through her post.
In particular, Ms. Rapti talks about unacceptable expressions that cannot be considered “normality”.
Ms Rapti’s full post:
My support for the immoral sexist attack received by Maria Syregela from a SYRIZA Member of Parliament is more than self-evident.
In the year 2024, with our society struggling to shake off stereotypes and entrenched patriarchal notions, struggling daily to achieve essential equality, it is not possible to consider such unacceptable expressions as “normality”.
Despite the discredit, despite the insults and underestimation that some consciously continue to cultivate, women today, we have nothing to prove to anyone!
On the contrary, we continue with more stubbornness and fortitude against anyone who vulgarly seeks to diminish our status
