Dealing with immigration requires joint efforts and cooperation and we are ready to work in this direction, say sources of the Ministry of Immigration
The importance of cooperation between Greece and Turkey for the management of the critical issue of immigration emphasize the sources of the Ministry of Migration and Asylum, commenting on the postponement of the visit of the Turkish Minister of the Interior, Ali Gerlikaya, while pointing out that this development will not be a barrier to the dialogue between the two countries.
In particular, as the same sources state, “cooperation between Greece and Turkey for the successful management of the immigration issue and the suppression of traffickers’ networks is of critical importance.”
“The postponement of the planned visit to Athens by the Turkish Minister of the Interior, Ali Gerlikaya, will not be a barrier to the open channel of communication that has started in recent months and has already borne fruit between the two countries,” they add.
“The Ministry of Immigration and Asylum wishes to continue the dialogue between Greece and Turkey and expects that a new meeting can be scheduled soon. Dealing with immigration requires joint efforts and cooperation and we are ready to work in this direction.”
