SYRIZA, PASOK, KKE, New Left and Pleussi Eleftherias request the summoning of the Prosecutor of the Supreme Court of Georgia, Adelinis, to the Institutions and Transparency Committee and the transmission of the conclusion on the case of telephone surveillance.

“I personally communicated with the leaders of the 4 parties, with Mr. Androulakis, Mr. Haritsis, Mr. Kasselakis, Mr. Koutsoubas, and they all agreed that the examination of the scandal is of the utmost importance,” she said in the parliamentary session. President of Freedom of Navigation, Zoe Konstantopoulou, adding that “requests are being submitted right now and until the end of the day from the five parliamentary groups in order to convene the Committee on Institutions and Transparency. The prosecutor Ms. Adeilinis should be summoned and examined by the members of the committee.”

SYRIZA and KKE have already submitted similar requests in writing, requesting that the committee be convened until Friday, when the Parliament closes, due to the summer holidays.

However, according to the Parliament’s Rules of Procedure, in order for any person to be compulsorily summoned for a hearing, the relevant request must gather a 2/5 majority, which is not reached by the signatures of the members of the above parties in the Institutions and Transparency Committee. In addition, sources of the majority commented that this is an illegal request which will be rejected, as the summons of the prosecutor of the Supreme Court, Georgia Adelini for her judicial review, constitutes a direct interference in the work of justice.
