The president of SYRIZA Progressive Alliance had contact with members of the Greek community in Ukraine today, Alexis Tsipras.

During the teleconference they had, the president and vice-president of the Greek community of Odysseus described their struggle for survival and the battle with the time given by all the expatriates, in their attempt to break free from its war zones. Of Ukraine.

Mr. Tsipras stressed that it is our obligation to make every effort to end the Russian invasion and peace, as well as every effort to help the expatriates of Ukraine, to save lives and to minimize the losses.

At the same time, he stated that he is ready to help in any way he can to support the expatriates of Ukraine and that in this context there will be communication with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs but also with the Consular Authorities in Odessa and Mariupol.

He expressed his support for the efforts of the consular authorities to free the Greeks and the need to keep open the escape route to neighboring countries and with a final destination in Greece.

For her part, the President of the Greek community of Odysseus and member of the Federation of Greek Communities of Ukraine, Lisa Polychronidis, noted that she is in constant contact with all expatriate organizations and consular authorities, while emphasizing that the situation is dramatic in both Odessa and in Mariupol and especially in Kharkov.

Finally, he thanked Alexis Tsipras for his support in their struggle to save all expatriates, who experience in the worst way the horror of war.
