In his post on X, Stefanos Kasselakis comments on the weekly review of Kyriakos Mitsotakis, emphasizing the issue of wiretapping
“In his customary Sunday speech – review of the week – the prime minister forgets four words: EYP, Predator, Areios Pagos”, comments the president of SYRIZA PS, Stefanos Kasselakis, in his social media post.
The president of SYRIZA states that “if he really considered the decision of the Supreme Court to be justified (like his nephew Dimitriadis and his cousin Adonis), he would celebrate the “delivery of justice”. But he is silent on the matter. Why;”. “But because he knows that this is the biggest cover-up in post-political Greece. And he doesn’t want to remind or “awaken” it in the minds of the citizens”, he adds.
Mr. Kasselakis emphasizes that “whoever has his ears wide open to surveillance, knows how to close his eyes to their cover-up” and concludes: “Mission accomplished. Next mission: judicial cover-up of Tempe. Greece 2.0”.

“Unprecedented operation to cover up the wiretapping scandal”
At the same time, in his article in the newspaper “To Vima”, Stefanos Kasselakis speaks of an “unprecedented operation to cover up the wiretapping scandal”.
In particular, the president of SYRIZA states that the argument by which the “isolated” majority of the ND in the Committee on Institutions and Transparency voted alone against the opposition’s request to summon the prosecutor of the Supreme Court, Georgia Adelinis, the deputy prosecutor, Achillea Zisi, as and the transmission of the prosecutor’s conclusion on the wiretapping scandal, was that the Parliament cannot call and control judicial officials. Mr. Kasselakis notes that “in 2016, the Institutions and Transparency Committee unanimously decided to summon the then Appellate prosecutor, Ms. Georgia Tsatani, in order for her to provide clarifications regarding her complaints against the then Deputy Minister of Justice, Dimitris Papagelopoulos”. “ND said and did different things as the official opposition, when the case was directed against a SYRIZA minister, and it says and does different things today when the mega surveillance scandal affects Mr. Mitsotakis himself, as the political head of the EYP,” he comments.
“The ND, therefore, also put its parliamentary stamp on the unprecedented operation to cover up the wiretapping scandal. A hypocritical and dangerous attitude for democracy, since this scandal touches the core of the democratic polity”, emphasizes the president of SYRIZA PS and adds: “Under the government of Mr. Mitsotakis, Greece is dramatically moving away from the European acquis, competing with Orban’s far-right Hungary for the most violations of the rules of the rule of law, attempts to manipulate justice and extensive impunity and protection of protagonists in major scandals.”
Mr. Kasselakis points out that “we will unwaveringly continue the fight to defend Democracy, the Constitution and the Rule of Law in Parliament and society. We will continue the effort to coordinate progressive forces so that the cover-up of neither the surveillance scandal nor government responsibilities for the state crime in Tempe does not pass.” As he underlines, “this fight is not our oppositional obsession, nor is it a preliminarily lost battle for the price of weapons”, but “our duty to the Greek people and the country’s Constitution, to fight, to heal the wounds caused by brutal the old political establishment of the Right in the body of the Hellenic Republic and to build together with the social majority a modern, European Greece, whose citizens will once again trust in the institutions of a fair and transparent state”.
