Athina Linou responds with her post to Pavlos Polakis and to publications that stated that the president of SYRIZA requested that an independent investigation be conducted regarding the complaints against her that have to do with grants from the Prolepsis institute.

In related posts, Pavlos Polakis leaves hints about opacity in the money received by the Institute.

“I was informed that the ongoing falsehood from a certain center included yesterday an alleged decision by the President of SYRIZA to ask an independent company to check the complaints against me. Although the President, Mr. Kasselakis, in a communication we had, categorically denied the existence of such a decision, personally I would not have any objection to it being carried out immediately”, says the Athena Linou in her post and adds that:

“The Prolepsis Institute and all its programs, anyway, are audited by chartered accountants, international auditing organizations, and by government agencies. For each programme, progress reports are submitted together with financial accounts to each stakeholder, who evaluate them not only in terms of their legality and sound management of funds, but also in terms of their effectiveness. I have no doubt that any additional scrutiny will confirm that this work has always been legal, ethical, and effective.
Late night reposts pretend to ask serious questions. But they are not honestly looking for the easily accessible answers, which come from public data that remains available to everyone and is fully transparent. They do injustice to the work of a team of 30 scientists and hundreds of volunteers and aim only at petty party ambitions.
But the collateral losses of these fascist attitudes (“throw mud and something will remain”) are the incomplete discussion and insufficient treatment of inequalities in our country, as well as the absence of any serious and essential opposition”.
