The president of PASOK-Movement for Change, Nikos Androulakis, is in Grevena today, as part of his tour in Western Macedonia, from where he severely criticized the government for the development of the region, highlighting the acute demographic problem faced by many regions.

“Yesterday I heard Mr. Mitsotakis talking about regional development. So, let him come here to Grevena, in Western Macedonia, to explain how there is this demographic collapse and the lack of development perspective, which leads even today, -after many years of economic crisis-, to hundreds of Greek children of the region leaving Greece for a good job”.

Mr. Androulakis added that the Recovery Fund was not used properly for regional development and “the government of New Democracy must apologize”.

Its president PASOK-Movement for Change noted that punctuality and the rapid increase in the cost of living is a major issue for citizens.

“If the prime minister took the message of the European elections, where he lost a large percentage of his party’s power, then he must support PASOK’s parliamentary initiative for a single consumer authority. We submitted it last year, New Democracy turned its back on us, we will submit it again and they have a duty to support it so that there is a single consumer authority that will inform the citizens which companies are profiting off the backs of the Greek people. And of course, they must support our proposal for reduced VAT on basic goods to the standards of other European countries, which brought results by keeping prices down.”
