“I would at least expect Alexis Tsipras not to tolerate various of his uninvited interpreters speaking or writing implying that they are expressing him”, the president of SYRIZA emphasized in an interview
“Our party has rules and a statute. If there are those who think it’s time for another presidential election, just one year after my election, they can officially put forward their proposal at the upcoming session of the Central Committee”, says the SYRIZA president in his interview with Real News. PS, Stefanos Kasselakis and adds: “Clearly, openly, institutionally and with full justification, because primarily introversion is recycled by parapolitics and the notorious “leaks”, especially when they dominate real politics”.
Regarding the merger scenarios of the Center-Left parties, he says: “What emerges is a plan for a nebulous center-left figure-“rag” that aspires to co-house defeated political plans, whether we are talking about all or a part of the (even today anti-Semitic) PASOK , or for executives of SYRIZA and the New Left. Willingness seems to exist on all sides, as well as willing business circles, to support such a convenient and harmless restructuring of the progressive space. If anyone thinks that such a scheme has a future, I invite them to reflect on what has happened in the wider progressive space in recent years, to realize that an artificial fusion of disparate defeated forces on the basis of a thousand-played social-democratic scenario will produce nothing but new defeats. .
In response to the question “if behind the movements and the questioning by the “87” is o Alexis Tsipras“, he answers: “I would at least expect Alexis Tsipras not to tolerate various uninvited interpreters of his speaking or writing implying that they express him. All of these shrink his profile from former prime minister and faction leader to group leader. If he wants, he can position himself for what is happening in our space, without “circles” and “leaks”. Clear and open, as it was placed on the opening day of our conference in February and its placement was answered by the conference body.’
Regarding his own plan, he says: “Above all, I am focused on a re-establishment plan for a modern and open party, which will empower its members and friends and will proceed on the basis of a competitive government program of all-out confrontation with the Right. I will not deviate from this great goal no matter the cost.”
Regarding his questioning by Pavlos Polakis, he says: “In politics friendships are not judged, but political plans. As I said, our party has rules and institutional procedures. In them, anyone can submit their proposals and they will be judged by the collective bodies”.
To the accusations that he “produces parapolitics” he answers: “Whether I produce parapolitics, the world, the members and friends of SYRIZA, who are aware of the attacks I receive daily through parapolitical publications and leaks, will judge.”
Regarding the deletion of Athena Linou, he said: “There is no strategic move behind her deletion. Pavlos Polakis is another, separate issue. It was not deleted because it denounced Ms. Linou. From there, let me remind Mrs. Linou that both she and the rest of the deputies – who were elected with SYRIZA and are now in the Parliament, having created a new party that has no social legitimacy – had signed its operating regulations of our parliamentary group, expressly agreeing that the seat belongs to the party and not to the person”.
Regarding the possibility of contesting again for the leadership of SYRIZA, while the names of Nikolas Faradouris, Sokratis Famellou, Renas Dourou are being mentioned, he answers: “I respect everyone, but I am not afraid of anything or anyone, as no one is holding me back. I want to build a party of collective democracy, innovative and attractive. Not an arena of confrontation of big Egos. If there are different political plans for our party, its structure, operation and program, which would justify another internal party election, let them be submitted.”
To a question about whether he can defeat Kyriakos Mitsotakis, since the ND is in the lead, he answered: “Our goal is for the party that we are renewing from the ground up (even with fire and iron!) to be able to threaten and eventually topple its hegemony On the right. It is my honor to lead this great and necessary effort that has been long overdue and therefore evolving with pain and turmoil. We wasted five years without changing our party and the results were damning. We will do it now with courage, boldness and without counting any temporary political cost. And that’s because our only goal is to get the progressive faction back on its feet.”
