A celebratory event for the 50th anniversary of the founding of PASOK was held tonight at the Zappeion Megaro, where the Kostas Simitis stating that “PASOK must play a leading role in these developments by offering the dream and the plan for the reconstruction of the country in a progressive direction”.

Specifically he stated:

“Today marks 50 years since the founding of PASOK.

I was a co-founder of PASOK on September 3, 1974. During this 50-year journey, we faced adversity and challenges, but we managed to lay the foundations for a more democratic Greece, with greater social cohesion and a strong presence in the European Union.

Today more than ever, the progressive world is asking for answers and above all a way out to be able to hope again. PASOK must play a leading role in these developments by offering the dream and the plan for the reconstruction of the country in a progressive direction. It’s an opportunity. The opportunities are not endless.

Here and now, therefore, we move forward with knowledge power and courage».
