Warring SYRIZA camps take up battle positions ahead of weekend Central Committee meeting with her eventuality motion of censure against Stefanos Kasselakis to remain strong. At the same time the leadership group poses the dilemma of the next day and unity.

The unity of the party will be judged at the weekend at the meeting of the Central Committee as the demand for internal party elections, and indeed with the direct initiative of the president, is becoming more and more resounding and imperative.

The basic scenario wants Pavlos Polakis to proceed with political intervention with a text that will justify why he is calling for elections.

The meeting of the Central Committee will open with Mr. Kasselakis’ proposal, from which no surprises are expected in terms of changing his attitude and proceeding with the announcement of internal party elections or wanting to pre-empt the motion of censure by asking for a vote of confidence.

Corresponding text will be filed by team of “87”which met today. So two critical texts and they will justify why SYRIZA should appeal to elections and by extension they will end up in a motion of censure.

Following the motion of censure, a vote should be held. A debate has already begun over whether the vote will be secret or open, with supporters of the impeachment motion wanting the process to be decided by ballot. The Kasselakis side, on the other hand, seems to be seeking an open vote. After the procedures are completed, the voting will be held on Sunday.

However, it remains difficult to predict the outcome and whether the opposition movement will be considered successful as the balance is difficult with the undecideds expected to play a key role, to whom Mr. Kasselakis will attempt to address tomorrow.
