The bill will be submitted to the parliamentary committee for Public Administration, Public Order and Justice next Tuesday, September 24, 2024.
The bill of the Ministry of Digital Governance entitled “Completion of land registration, simplification of procedures, use of artificial intelligence and provisions for the operation of the n.p.d.d. “Hellenic Land Registry”, other provisions of the Ministry of Digital Governance”.
The purposes of the bill include:
- the acceleration of the land registration process, in order to achieve the goal of transitioning the entire country to a functioning Land Registry within 2025, the strengthening of legal certainty and the reduction of long-term legal disputes and the facilitation of local government organizations in the submission of land registration declarations,
- the use of artificial intelligence, as well as new applications, to further upgrade the services provided by the legal entity under public law (n.p.d.d.) with the name “Hellenic Land Registry”,
- the simplification and acceleration of the procedures for the transfer of real estate, the return of unduly paid fees, the registration of registrable deeds and the correction of cadastral records, in a functioning Land Registry, in order to avoid complex administrative procedures and long-term legal disputes,
- the resolution of issues related to the titles of real rights, to be vested in the beneficiaries,
- the strengthening of the possibilities of the n.p.d.d. “Hellenic Land Registry” with the aim of faster and more efficient registration of deeds,
- the enhancement of operational effectiveness and efficiency in the operation of the n.p.d.d. “Hellenic Land Registry”, the response of the Land Registry Offices and
- Branches in the immediate needs of logistical support and daily operations, resulting from the inclusion of the country in the functioning Land Registry,
- ensuring safe and seamless communication with citizens, as well as creating an improved national authentication infrastructure, compatible with the eIDAS Regulation, and
- the treatment of the problems of E.R.T. S.A. in the smooth broadcasting of its radio programs for the radio coverage of the entire country.
