In the context of his interview with Manos Niflis and the Evening Report of the EMU TV station, the President of PASOK-Movement for Change, Nikos Androulakis, criticized the New Democracy government’s tolerance for the unscrupulous functioning of the market which results in profiteering at the expense of citizens .

“Mr. Mitsotakis is a statist for the oligarchs. Whenever they lose money, the state is there to give them subsidies. When it comes to the citizens, Mr. Mitsotakis is deeply neoliberal allowing the operation of an unscrupulous market without rules” he underlined.

Asked to comment on scenarios about behind-the-scenes collaborations in the center-left and also the spot of Christos Spirtzis on social media, Mr. Androulakis noted: “He who chokes by his hair gets caught. Some people must understand that PASOK does not offer to take it and sell it. It’s a historic lineup. In 2021 I committed to unity, renewal and political autonomy. I did all three. If you remember the first question I was asked at all the TV panels was “who are you going with”, now that’s off the table. The great opportunity that is in front of us did not come from the sky, but is the product of the effort we made with the world of the faction, which did not build bridges or make public relations with our political opponents. On the contrary, he fought a political and ideological struggle.”

“Crete was painted green and in the region we are the second party because the voters of SYRIZA voted for PASOK. We built on a solid foundation. PASOK is an open party, people came from both SYRIZA and New Democracy, candidates for MPs and MEPs, self-administered people, people of culture because they see something. If we do not disrupt this course and go to an era where some will have bridges in mind, but instead work with unity, renewal, political autonomy and a specific political discourse, I see no reason why PASOK should not play even bigger role” he added talking about the invitation that PASOK addresses to New Democracy and SYRIZA voters.

“In the internal party elections of 2021, I was constantly asked what I would do as I am not an MP, while I would only be away from the Parliament for one year. It strikes me that today, even though the national elections will be held in three years, the question in question is not being asked on the merits. Responding to the question about governability, Mr. Androulakis commented: “The question is constantly being asked who will beat Mitsotakis. Several appear and say they will make it. Personally, I’m not talking theoretically. I have been President of the faction for two and a half years. Who led New Democracy to strategic defeats inside and outside Parliament? That’s what I want you to think. When again in the fifty years of the post-revolutionary period did the third parliamentary party make a motion of no confidence, followed by the rest of the parties and on the same night the great loser was the Prime Minister who dismissed half of Maximus?
