THE Marios Salmas he spoke about the reasons for his deletion, the friction with the prime minister, the competitions for canteens, while revealing the dialogue he had with Kyriakos Mitsotakis and whether he will keep his seat.

“Nobody knows, not even the Ethics Committee that called me to explain. That’s why it only lasted 48 seconds,” he said in response to a question, on ANT1, about the reasons for his deletion and describing the dialogue with Yannis Tragakis, he said that he left inside with a paper that spoke of “anti-parliamentary behavior”.

“In my case, I was deleted for my views” argued Marios Salmas, stressing that “Article 60 states that the MP has unlimited freedom of speech and judgement”.

The now independent member of parliament “sees” the dialogue he had with the prime minister during the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee after the European elections as the reason for the deletion.

“For 25 years I did not give a reason, I did not raise an objection to a bill in my faction. I didn’t even now give a reason for this to happen. Just after the KO meeting to take care of why people turned their backs on us in the European elections – I said my personal opinion is that it is a reversible one – in front of the prime minister,” he said and commented: “We all serve the faction. Anyone who has a proprietary perception of the faction is wrong.”

Asked about his political future, he noted: “Who cares what I do? The world has my problems.”

He clarified that he will not hand over his seat, saying that “the seat is a mandate of the citizens. Citizens said I want to express their ideas. To have an opinion, I went through eleven election contests. The decision to be outside the party and KO does not give me the right to resign from my seat”.

The dialogue with the prime minister

Marios Salmas attributes his deletion to the dialogue he had with the prime minister during the ND Parliamentary Group meeting:

“I told him it’s nice to say we’re moving forward, but when you’re moving forward, you have to know whose political compass you’re going with. For example, when you decide to whom to give renewable energy sources, you gave them to the few, not the many.

Fine you say let’s tax the freelancers, control the super profits. What does excess profit mean? Why didn’t you take measures to prevent it in time? Not all are imported.

I cannot accept a company taking all the canteens of the archaeological sites at the minimum price, and Ms. Mendoni saying ‘I don’t care about the price’, I care that the canteens are good. He turned down an offer at twice the price.

He answered me: I don’t accept insinuations that I serve the few, if we were with the few, we wouldn’t have gotten 41%,” said Mr. Salmas, claiming that this was the dialogue he had with Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

The “break in chemistry” with Mitsotakis

Mr. Salmas spoke about the moment when his “chemistry” with the prime minister broke down: “My chemistry with the prime minister ‘broke’ in an instant. When I saw him smiling on TV instructing MPs to abstain from the same-sex couple bill. He never answered when I asked him who told you to recommend abstinence?’

Commenting on rumors that the Prime Minister is going out for drinks with MPs after returning from New York. “MPs don’t want a massage, the mandate of the people wants you to correct the wrong texts,” he commented.

And he said that, “ND is a political entity that has the values and ideas of Konstantinos Karamanlis. The party has experienced many leaders and presidents. Because it’s not just me who spoke about the current prime minister, it’s also two former prime ministers who spoke publicly. As Karamanlis also said: when you think that you are right and everyone else is wrong, you are probably wrong”.

And he added that people tell him that “development has not reached us”.

“Is it nice that all the dairy companies are being bought by the funds? Because funds don’t invest, they buy out. I’m glad I won’t have to vote anymore because of party discipline,” he concluded.
