The importance of respecting international agreements will be underlined by the former prime minister Alexis Tsipras to the Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on Western Balkans which will be convened under his chairmanship on October 10-11 in Belgrade.

According to information, the work of the Commission will be opened by Alexis Tsipras, the Prime Minister and the President of the Parliament Serbiawhile parliamentarians from the member states and especially the Western Balkans will participate.

Alexis Tsipras is expected to emphasize the importance of respecting international agreements for ensuring peace and stability, dealing with nationalism and the European perspective of the Western Balkans. It will also underline its importance in building trust and countering nationalism, co-developing the region in the economy, energy and the new green and digital agenda, as well as coordinating security and diplomacy.

The former prime minister will meet the Serbian prime minister on the sidelines of the meeting.
