The “spook” of the split is still spreading over Koumoundourou – Stefanos Kasselakis created his own site
By Antonis Anzoletou
No one could have predicted in Koumoundourou that shortly before leaving in 2024 the party would have two sites. The official that expresses the positions of the official opposition and describes its operation, but also a “pirate” created by Stefanos Kasselakis to surprise his companions again.
“I ask the people who are listening to us if they want to support in addition to registering with the member organizations, if they are not already a member, to go to the page that we are now uploading on the internet to ‘our own SYRIZA’ and register.”
The internet “war” started with its former president SYRIZA to attempt to show his strength at the base. Already on social media, a conflict broke out between the two camps.
The second piece of news he brought out in his interview with STAR yesterday Stefanos Kasselakis it’s about the initiatives he intends to take if things don’t go his way. Everything shows that the pressure he will apply to Koumoundourou will be continuous and intense.
In case of postponement of the conference he seems to be considering the possibility of calling a referendum. “Members have options to take initiatives and we will. If there is a postponement we will do it. From then on, let everyone take their responsibility”, he said characteristically. Today he will tour Menidi, while he is also preparing an excursion to the region.
The “87” do not believe that the former president of SYRIZA controls the base despite what he claims. They deny that the conference schedule has changed, but the situation is so tense that no one can prejudge anything. They are still talking about an irrevocable decision regarding his non-contestation in the elections. Stefanos Kasselakis predicted that the conference would be postponed.
The “spook” of the split still looms over Koumoundourou. Alexandros Avlonitis told ONE that “but if they exclude Mr. Kasselakis in an illegal, substitute way, I will think a lot about whether I will remain there”.
With his statement, the SYRIZA MP from Corfu once again fueled the scenarios that want KO members, who are close to the former president, to proceed with independence.
It was preceded by resignation of Iota Poulos by the Central Committee. Possibly at this stage similar movements and statements do not help Stefanos Kasselakis who, in order to strengthen the Member Organizations from his supporters, insists that everyone must remain active in the party.
Perhaps for this reason one of the people closest to him, the Theodora Tzakrispeaking on PARAPOLITIKA FM, after ruling out the possibility of being a presidential candidate, said: “I will remain in SYRIZA. I want Mr. Kasselakis in SYRIZA and he wants to remain in SYRIZA.”
