The President of PASOK-Movement for Change, Nikos Androulakis, in his speech at the Plenary Session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg on the dramatic developments in the war in Ukraine, stressed the importance of the Common Foreign and Defense Policy and the energy autonomy of Europe.

Mr. Androulakis stressed that “spring this year did not come for the children of Ukraine. “Putin’s invasion is an illegal and barbaric act, plunging an entire people into destruction and despair.” He stressed that the EU must acquire the means and defend its values against the horrible and tyrannical despotism.
“The Unified Foreign Policy and Defense, energy autonomy, are priorities. “Euromilitary, joint armaments programs, strong financial sanctions and the arms embargo are tools that can safeguard our prosperity and our borders,” said the KINAL-PASOK president.
He added that the blind commitment of European governments to their economic interests underestimated the dangerous, imperial, revisionist ideas of both Putin and Erdogan. “I do not ask in any case, Europe, to return to militarism, but we must do everything in our power, so as not to allow its return,” said Nikos Androulakis.
