“Since 2019, he has been continuously implementing the law that led to the licensing of television stations, a law that we voted for,” he stressed
“Mr. Mitsotakis he behaved like a spoiled child. He was disrespectful to the institutions, cowardly because he did not sit down to face us and guilty. Guilty, not for what he orchestrated against me and our faction, but because he has been continuously implementing since 2019 the law that led to the licensing of television stations, a law that we voted for. We should call this law the “Pappa-Mitsotakis law””, stressed Mr Nikos Pappasspeaking to ANT1, about the departure of Mr. Mitsotakis from the Plenary of the Parliament last Wednesday.
The president of K.O. of SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance, after underlining that it was an “institutional indecency” and thanking the parties of the democratic arc that stood against it, pointed out that the choice of Mitsotakis “was both naive and in relation to the goal he seems to have set ». According to Nikos Pappa, this attitude “led to a polarization, which left Mr. Mitsotakis isolated.”
“We have requested information from the prime minister on national issues as early as September 28. What will happen? Won’t he let us know? In other words, will Mr. Fidan come to Greece, will he meet with Mr. Gerapetritis, will we hear statements from Turkish officials and under any pretext will he refuse the information?”, he asked.
Continuing his criticism, Mr. Pappas noted:
“Mr. Mitsotakis displays an arrogance that is incommensurate with reality. N.D. it is pressed by the multiple problems that society is experiencing and Mr. Mitsotakis thinks that he can define what will be done according to the parliamentary order and violate the rules of the Parliament and the Constitution. Is this a prime minister’s position? What will happen in the next 40 days? I will be in Parliament every day. Will Mr. Mitsotakis enter and leave the Plenary? Is that what he is saying to the Greek people?’
Regarding the disclosure of the details of the protected witnesses of the Novartis case, he emphasized that “the Novartis scandal is real and acknowledged. How can anyone dispute this when the company itself has admitted it? Here we had an option that puts a tombstone on the institution of protected witnesses, an institution that was also strengthened in Greece with a 2014 law, there was a relevant European directive on public interest witnesses in 2019 and with Floridis legislative intervention it was possible to proceed with this process” .
