Stefanos Kasselakis does not recognize the decision of the Political Secretariat of SYRIZA, which validated his exclusion from the nominations for the leadership of the main opposition party.

Sources close to Kasselakis comment that “no matter how much the opportunistic majority in the Political Secretariat insists, the conference was and remains the highest body and the only one competent to decide on the nominations for the presidency”.

They emphasize that Stefanos Kasselakis will be a candidate for President.

Today, the Political Secretariat again-again-excluded me from being a candidate for the Presidency of SYRIZA-PS.

I wonder how many times they will have to disqualify me in order to calm down the “fear” (as a party executive said in a televised appearance yesterday) that my candidacy causes them.

It’s the fear because incumbent MPs will need to go through primaries to be re-nominated.

It is the fear because there will be an incompatibility between a member of the Central Committee and a salaried employee of the party (transferees, secondees, etc.).

But mainly it is fear because the base will have the reason for everything. And the base will bring forth new faces from society and not from the party bureaucracy. Such will be the executives of tomorrow.

They invoke the office rental as my… vicarious act. Where will a candidate who was ousted from office vicariously overnight run his election campaign?

They call for site creation! “Our SYRIZA” this year is substitute and forbids me to be a candidate. But last year’s site “SYRIZA reconstruction now” was statutory and allowed me to be a candidate.

Fortunately, what for a small group cut off from society is Fear, for thousands of progressive citizens and SYRIZA voters is Hope.
