“Rain” of complaints about irregularities has caused new tension between the “87” and the “casselistas”
By Antonis Anzoletou
Two days before the conference, the “bloods” constantly flare up in SYRIZA. The “rain” of objections that exist for irregularities has caused a new focus of tension between the “87” and the “casselistas”, as until very late at night the Committee for Legalization of Delegates was examining cases of prefectural committees where the integrity of the process is questioned. The Committee will probably meet today as well, while the Political Secretariat will also be convened.
As sources from the staff of Mr. Kasselakis stated, “so far the “Legitimization” Committee of Conferences proposes to exclude entire Organizations, mainly in Athens, that dared to massively support Stefanos Kasselakis”.
“What they confessed yesterday is being implemented today,” they add. They spoke of 183 delegates. According to the same sources, among the delegates heading for exclusion, they come from the following organizations: Dionysou 9-6, Kato kentrou 13-1, Ktinotrofon Karditsa 6-0, Pagrati 18-3, Chaidari 29-0, Ampelokipi 21-3, Patisia 29-1 B apartment Piraeus 14-0, Fokida 11-0 (Entire Prefecture).
Several disagreements were recorded with the two representatives of the “guard” Kasselakis, Nina Kasimati and Thanos Moraitis, reacting to the meeting. According to the same sources, Thanos Moraitis reportedly said: “up to 500 we can withstand. When you get over there tell us.” The Kasselakis side also leaked that after pressure from Nina Kasimati and Thanos Moraitis, the rest of the committee members left, taking the minutes with them.
SYRIZA circles pointed out that what is circulating about cutting delegates because they support Stefanos Kasselakis is vulgar fake news. The Legalization Committee, which is foreseen and has functioned in all previous Congresses, is meeting today to check the correct observance of the electoral conditions and procedures (such as equal representation of the sexes, expected number of elected representatives per OM, observance of the number of preference crosses per ballot, regardless of procedure, etc.), as defined by the circulars of the EEC and the decisions of the Council of Ministers, as well as for the examination of relevant objections. The night was big yesterday in Koumoundourou, as according to information, the Central Organizing Committee of the Conference was convened shortly before midnight in order to examine the behavior or the expulsion of the two specific executives from the Legalization Committee. Pavlos Polakis also commented on Facebook, calling the leak from the Kasselakis side false. “Panic is a bad advisor,” he said characteristically.
In the end, according to information, after a vote, KOES decided to exclude Thanos Moraitis and Nina Kasimati from the Legalization Committee. “The extraordinary meeting was held so that delegates and entire organizations that support Stefanos Kasselakis could continue to be deleted without a reason,” said sources from the former president’s side.
