At noon, the Minister of Citizen Protection will preside over a broad meeting in Promahonas, in the presence of the police and customs authorities
The improvement of the infrastructure at its border station Bastion in an effort to strengthen the sense of security of Greek citizens, he was at the center of the visit made today to Serres by the Minister of Citizen Protection Michalis Chrysochoidis.
The minister, as part of his visit, visited the Police Directorate of Serres, the mayor and the deputy governor, while at noon he is expected to preside over a broad meeting that will take place in Promahonas with the presence of the police and customs authorities.
In his statements a little earlier, Mr. Chrysochoidis underlined, among other things, that “all problems will be thoroughly discussed at the meeting, in an effort to deal with them effectively and provide immediate solutions, always aiming to improve the country’s security”.
“P.E. Serres”, he underlined, “is one of the most important border stations of our country due to Promahona, through which eight million passengers and two million cars pass from Eastern European and Central Asian countries. For this reason, we are constantly on the lookout to control the entry and exit points as well as the routes that lead to the rest of mainland Greece.”
Mr. Chrysochoidis expressed his absolute satisfaction for the excellent work, as he said, that the Serres Police Department is doing both in matters of security and social policing as well as in matters of domestic violence, fan violence and violence among minors.
Finally, he praised the work and effort made by the police, underlining that “they strive every day to improve the security of Serres and the entire country”.
