The MP Christidou Rally since yesterday afternoon sent the letter of independence from the SYRIZA parliamentary group to the president of the Parliament, while today he released the following statement:

“My independence is the minimum necessary measure that can be taken to restore the damage to the individual and political rights suffered by thousands of legally elected delegates of SYRIZA-PS at the Extraordinary Congress of violence and fraud on Friday 8/11/2024.

If the party organs decided to blatantly ignore with inhumane cynicism tens of thousands, organized members and hundreds of thousands of members and voters by insulting the personality, history and struggles of each individual, depriving them, obviously, of their constitutional rights, this is a a choice which my conscience cannot bear.

I will continue to carry out my parliamentary duties as an independent MP.
