Diverse and unstable, he contributed the most to the strengthening and extroversion of the Greek economy, says the President of the Republic in her condolence message
The President of the Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, sent her own condolence message for the death of Vardis Vardinogiannis, stating among other things that he left an indelible mark on the economic and social life of the country.
Ms. Sakellaropoulou’s statement in detail:
A sharp entrepreneurial spirit, democratic consciousness, social sensitivity were the characteristics of Vardis Vardinogiannis, whom we say goodbye to today with sadness and respect. Multifaceted and unstable, he contributed the most to the strengthening and extroversion of the Greek economy. As a Navy officer he was actively involved in the resistance against the dictatorship of the colonels and after his demobilization he supported his former colleagues in the resistance with all his might. Keeping his ties with his birthplace, Crete, intact, he created a solid family and a second one, consisting of the workers in his businesses, while wholeheartedly supporting and strengthening the charity work of his beloved Marianna. With his dynamism, foresight, and his commitment to the goal, he left an indelible mark on the economic and social life of our country. My heartfelt condolences to his family.
