The reflexive message that is considered to have been received by the Greek government from the American elections, on the occasion of the common issues that concern both “there” and “here” voters (see immigration, woke agenda, inflation) seems to have opened the appetites of the “popular wing” of the ND to push for a change of course. The argument of this side, when the time comes for the ballot box – even if it is late, in 2027 – is that the “distance” created by some specific political choices with the traditional and conservative voters of the ND, who they may not have voted against their party in June’s European elections, but they chose to send their “first message” by abstaining from home as well.

A debate, which flared up again in the blue wells, after the verdict of the Americans and from the first parliamentarians, who publicly broadcast the specific message is the Nikitas Kaklamanis. The election also set a milestone for the government President of the Republic considering that immediately after “there must be a really bold and in the right direction rearrangement of government forces so that we can now head towards the new electoral contest”. He added, that the change in question “should be such a change that symbolizes something to the popular base of the faction, that is to say, we put our minds together with the policies, one of which is the new tax bill”.

Mr. Kaklamanis left sharp points for the current government scheme, stressing that “40% of the cabinet are not New Democrats” while he wondered “how is it possible that in all the reshuffles all the non-parliamentary ministers, deputy ministers and deputies remain unchanged and only the parliamentarians. So all the “stars” were the non-parliamentarians and all the “scumbags” were the others who run and collect the crosses for the party and for ourselves and become ministers after the others who haven’t sweated at all? I believe it should be a bold makeover. I appreciate that the prime minister has received the messages,” he stressed.

A government official, however, invited to comment on the new “complaining” caused by the American election result, commented that the prime minister in due course will clarify the cloudy landscape that is being attempted, stressing that the main and primary concern of him and his government is with his work and policies, at the end of the four years, when the time of the ballot will come again, let the people who gave him the victory support him again. Precisely because they will find that the words and pre-election promises and commitments have become deeds and works.

Because the associations caused by the American polls with the domestic reality are obvious and concern the Maximos Palaceit is taken for granted that in the next period an even greater emphasis will be placed on policies to support the middle class. A fact that the prime minister himself confirmed during his recent interview with SKAI that the government’s measures in the period 2026-27 will concern the specific economic-social order. “Depending on the course of the Budget, I can tell you, however, what concerns me the most and where I would like to turn our attention: the middle class and the burden on wage labor,” he said.
