Her departure from SYRIZA is a matter of hours, the party’s Viotia MP Yota Poulos stressed on Wednesday night. Ms. Poulos left open the possibility of joining the party of Stefanos Kasselakis. “I’m not in a hurry,” he said about this prospect.

“I have made my decisions, it is a matter of hours in fact… Now, I think that… I had said that I would not like to deprive the party of the role of the official opposition, but on the other hand, I cannot accept everything that happened at the congress and the methods used. So, speaking also with the people of Boeotia, this is not a figure of speech, it is the essence (…) I have discussed and I have made my decisions now, because they are already dismissing me because I am late… Yes, I think that from Monday (I will be independent )” said the MP.

SYRIZA and PASOK currently each have 31 MPs in Parliament, the same as PASOK, but SYRIZA remains the official opposition due to higher percentages in the last elections. If the MP leaves, PASOK will take the position of opposition official as SYRIZA will have 30 MPs.
